A JOURNEY

"There are really two types of pictures in photography. Decorative and Illustrative. Decorative photos looks good visually but has either little or no story to it. Illustrative photo has a story to tell. Better photography is about working of merging them both. A visually good looking photo with a story to tell."

SATU KISAH DI KG. PENIMBAWAN, TUARAN, SABAH.

Canon 1000D; Kit lens 18-55mm; ISO 400; FL 18mm; f/3.5; 1/125s (Handheld)

Aku fotograf makcik ni di Kg. Penimbawan, Tuaran, Sabah, Malaysia.

This photo taken in Kg. Penimbawan, Tuaran, Sabah, Malaysia. I was exercising the low light/low-key technique which i learnt from Mr. Rabani Ayub and photgraph without using flash, this because i wanted to get the detail inside the house using the ambient light.  Admitedly It's very tricky because of the high contrast outside the house and we were in a hurry. I meter inside the house forgoting to get the lens focus on the old lady's face, the result?  I got the photo with the mood i wanted and i like it but the old lady's face is a bit blur. Ok..at least i learn something from that very mistake and i'll go there again sometime and take some similar photo.
