The various types of photography are a clear indication of this much-loved art form that has reached epic proportions in terms of popularity; either as a hobby or as a profession. Here are some various types of photography that enjoy a prominent position in the creative industry.
Night Photography:
Photographers in this case completely specialize in night scenes. Due to the problem of minimum light, new techniques are being incorporated. A photographer can use artificial light or even a long exposure to capture clear and precise images.
These various types of photography clearly give an indication of the blossoming of this art form. Technology has made it possible to go beyond the obvious frames. Today, photography is about the combination of the expertise of the photographer as well as techniques. But in the true sense, an excellent photographer would only need creativity and strong powers of observation to be able to capture visuals that are truly beyond the ordinary.

Moon

Its enduring beauty is reason enough to try, but the moon can be a challenging digital subject. It's quite tricky, specially for a begginer like me. One of my friend tips me how to shoot a moon, its like shooting the sun. After so many attempts, i manage to get this one with my telephoto lens.  Cropped? Of course i had to, my lens doesn't enough to get the range haha...

Sutera Harbour Marina at dusk -Long exposure

BLACK AND WHITE

Black-and-white, often abbreviated B/W or B&W, is a term referring to a number of monochrome forms in visual arts.

Black-and-white as a description is also something of a misnomer, for in addition to black and white most of these media included varying shades of gray. Further, many prints, especially those produced earlier in the development of photography, were in sepia (mainly to provide archival stability), which gave a richer, more subtle shading than reproductions in plain black-and-white, although less so than color.

Some people says, it's they loves images in black and white..its kinda classy.  I don't know, but i too love it, it has some kind of attraction.

Eye

I love your eyes, those twinkling eyes, They speak of a thousand things. It glows and I drown in its intensity, I would love to stay there forever..

Bokeh on plants

This image was photographed when i was walking on along a small road in my hometown Tenghilan, Sabah, Malaysia.  Its actually a wet land plant which grows on a small canal built to water a rice paddy field.  I dont know the name of this plant but i was thinking this could be a worth subject to shoot for my bokeh excersises.

Exercising "BOKEH"

"Suffice to say that different lens designs have an effect on the appearance of the out-of-focus areas in photographs.

Some photographic styles commonly use selective focus to bring the viewer's attention to the subject. That means the subject is focused but the non-subject areas are not. If those unfocused areas are busy and distracting, the objective of bringing attention to the subject is lost. That's why portrait photographers in particular care about bokeh.

There are a couple of myths about bokeh:

Bokeh is controlled by the roundness of the lens diaphragm.

Faster lenses have better bokeh."

This is my another work on bokeh potrait with a shallow DOF.

"To get great bokeh, you not only need a wide aperture, but you also need to get close to your subject. This will really separate the subject from the background."

This photograph was taken on an evening with telephoto lens 55-250mm to get close to the subject.  This is another way to get bokeh effect besides using the wide open apperture.

CLOSED-UP & BOKEH

"Bokeh simply means fuzzy or out of focus. It is used to refer to the effect of shallow depth of field that creates a pleasing blur of color behind the subject. The type of lens and the depth of field play a large part in determining how out of focus the area is and whether or not it creates a pleasing effect in the image."

Aku pasti ramai yang suka ambil foto "bokeh".  Sebabnya, ia akan menonjolkan subjek kerana background dan foreground akan samar.  Pada mulanya, aku pun tidak tahu macamana sebenarnya untuk mendapat foto yang macam itu. Setelah membuat kajian dan banyak bertanya baru lah aku tahu tenik sebenar untuk mengambil foto "bokeh". ,Apa lagi, aku buat lah praktikal dengan kasut lusuh aku ni :)

Guna aperture yg besar, gunakan focal length yg besar, pastikan kita berada lebih rapat dgn subjek, rancangkan kedudukan subjek agar background berada lebih jauh ke belakang dan kalau nak lebih lagi bokeh, guna kamera yg saiz sensornya lebih besar. 

I'm sure most photographer like to shoot "bokeh". Why, because it will highlight the subject while background  and the foreground will look blur. At first, I really do not know the how to shoot one, so i did some research and i asked around.  It really worth it when i took this photo and managed to get one :) just in a singlle shot :)

SATU KISAH DI KG. PENIMBAWAN, TUARAN, SABAH.

Aku fotograf makcik ni di Kg. Penimbawan, Tuaran, Sabah, Malaysia. Masa ni aku cuba teknik low light/low-key yang aku belajar dari abang Rabani Ayub tanpa menggunakan "flash" sebab aku mahu dapat detail di dalam rumah dengan cahaya yg ada (ambient light) tetapi pada masa yang sama kontras tinggi sampai terkial-kial juga aku dapat "exposure". Aku terpaksa juga "meter" ke dalam rumah tu supaya aku dapat detailnya, akhirnya aku dapatlah "setting" macam yang aku tulis di atas. Cuma satu yang agak mengecewakan, oleh kerana aku asyik "meter" ke dalam rumah, aku terlupa untuk tumpu fokus pada muka makcik ni dan menyebabkan muka makcik ni "blur" dan buat aku berazam untuk buat lebih banyak latihan.  Nda apa, sekurang-kurangnya aku belajar sesuatu dari kesilapan.

I was exercising the low light/low-key technique which i learnt from Mr. Rabani Ayub and photgraph without using flash, this because i wanted to get the detail inside the house using the ambient light.  Admitedly It's very tricky because of the high contrast outside the house and we were in a hurry. I meter inside the house forgoting to get the lens focus on the old lady's face, the result?  I got the photo with the mood i wanted and i like it but the old lady's face is a bit blur. Ok..at least i learn something from that very mistake and i'll go there again sometime and take some similar photo.

Foto ini diambil pada awal pembabitan aku dgn DSLR sewaktu lawatan ke Kg. Gombizau, Kudat, Sabah, Malaysia. Apa yang istimewa hingga melawat ke kampung tu? Kampung tersebut ialah salah sebuah kampung pengeluar madu asli. :)

Ok..kisah foto ni pulak...dalam mencari bahan untuk difotograf, ternampak pulak ibu dan anaknya..aku pun apa lagi.."snap". Aku harap foto ini dapat menceritakan sesuatu.

Taken somewhere last year in my early day with DSLR during a visit to Gombizau, Kudat, Sabah, Malaysia. What's so special about the said place? Well, it's a Honey Producer, thats all :) ok..about the photo..i was walking around looking for subject to be photographed, i saw the mother and her child, raise my gear and "snap"..Hope this photo has a story to tell.

Kinabalu Mountain - Sunrise view from Kg. Penimbawan

Foto ini diambil semasa ke Kg. Penimbawan, Tuaran, Sabah, Malaysia. Aku kagum dengan warna langit pada pagi tu menambah seri gunung Kinabalu yang tersergam indah. Untuk pengetahuan, Kg. penimbawan ialah sebuah perkampungan nelayan etnik Bajau Samah yang terletak di Teluk Sulaman. Kita boleh ke sana dengan menaiki bot dari Kg. Serusup, Tuaran, Sabah yang mengambil masa kira-kira 10-15 minit.

Kg. Penimbawan is a Bajau Samah etnic fishing village, located on the lakeside of Sulaman Lake in Tuaran. It take 10-15 minuntes to get there by boat from Kg. Serusup, Tuaran, Sabah, Malaysia.

Arina - Close Up Potrait

I always love taking pictures of children. The expression on their faces reflected the honesty and it remind me of my life as a kid.

I took this photo with my Canon 1000D + 50mm lens. Since it was an evening i set to ISO 400; f/4 at shutter speed 1/60 and put a little light with built in flash.

Aku memang suka mengambil foto kanak-kanak. Ekspresi yang terpancar di wajah mereka sentiasa menggambarkan kejujuran dan ia mengingatkan zaman kanak-kanak kita yang penuh bermacam ragam.

Aku ambil gambar ni pakai Canon 1000D + 50mm lens. Petang bah ni, jadi aku set ISO 400; f/4; 1/60 dan pakai built in flash supaya dapat foto yang "soft". Sephia? memang aku set picture style monochrome.
